I was sent a picture was cut from a magazine and I was asked to make something similar to it.

This is my version of the photo!  I can design it in any color that you choose!  Just allow up to 2 weeks for completion as I may have to order in the color.

The “Crystal Fairy” hats are designed over designer horsehair and they’re very comfortable and cool to wear.  The crown is accented with my signature organza lace with sequins and pearls.  Beautiful silk rose/roses accent the lace.  The brim is 18 inches in diameter, which allows for a nice sized brim for any occasion.

This is a custom design Kentucky Derby hat order for Julie.  When I’m designing a hat that I know is going to the Kentucky Derby, I just hope that it will get noticed.  This was one that did and Julie looked beautiful wearing it!
Julie sent me pics of her outfit and after several emails and phone calls, we decided on the design.  The final result was a taupe sinamay hat, creamy golden silk, an array of feathers and a glitzy rhinestone butterfly accenting the silk bow.

I’ve always chosen the more traditional Edwardian hat designs. It’s not that I’m playing it safe, I just love the look and feel of wool, sinamay and feathers!  I also love traditional designs of the Edwardian Era.  I’ve studied many catalogs, as well as millinery publications and quite honestly, I haven’t found a lot in the glitzy colors of gold or silver.  However, this spring, I’m breaking with tradition and plan on offering several “One of a Kind” gold and silver Edwardian style designs that will be beautiful for Downton Abbey events as well as glamorous for your Kentucky Derby hat.
